Happy 4th Birthday RailBlazer!
On June 14, 2018, a revolutionary new coaster roared to life at California’s Great America. RailBlazer was the first coaster of its kind on the West Coast to feature a single rail track. The design requires riders to straddle the rail, creating an extremely low center of gravity that amplifies every move and enables more dynamic turns and rotations than have ever been possible on a coaster. With an eight-passenger, single-file train hugging the rail, the coaster gives riders an unobstructed view of their surroundings as they speed smoothly over the twisting track.
Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction and designed by legendary coaster designer Alan Schilke, RailBlazer lifts riders to a height of 106 feet before dropping at a breath-taking 90-degree angle. Throughout the 1,800 feet of track, riders travel 52 miles per hour, experience an abundance of airtime and steeply banked turns, undertake three inversions and twist through a zero-gravity roll. The tight footprint of the ride itself intensifies every twist and turn.
The design of the ride evokes images of an off-road, ATV adventure with immersive theming that embraces the great outdoors of the Bay Area and Central California Coast.
Features of the ride include:
A maximum height of 106 feet
A 90-degree, face-down first drop
Over 1,800 feet of track
A top speed of 52 miles per hour
Three inversions, including a zero-gravity roll
