Autism Awareness Week July 8-14

California's Great America

California's Great America is the premier amusement park in California's Bay Area, offering endless fun and thrills with world-class rides, attractions and live entertainment.

July 8-14 is Autism Awareness Week at the park and we are proud to partner with the Autism Society of America to make sure every guest has a fun and enjoyable experience. Guests with autism and their families can take advantage of specially tailored resources to make their day the best ever at the park. We hope you find this week at the park to be as rewarding as we do!

First Aid and Quiet/Sensory Spaces

In First Aid located behind RailBlazer, we provide quiet spaces for families to take a break and cool off. These Sensory and Quiet Spaces include headphones and goodies.

Food

We recognize that people on the autism spectrum avoid eating foods that contain gluten. Our gluten-free options are available at the following locations:

  • Pizza Orleans | Salads
  • American Café | Fruit cups, salads, & sandwiches with no bun
  • Game Time | Garlic fries
  • Outback Shack | Fruit cups, dessert cups & salads
  • Food Festival | Salads, sushi, milkshakes, smoothies, & sandwiches with no bun
  • Sierra Creek Lodge | Salads & sushi
  • Maggie Brown’s | Salads, corn, smokehouse beans, sweet potatoes, smoked tri-tip, & rotisserie chicken
  • Great American Pizza Company | Salads
  • Subway | Ask Associate for gluten-free menu
  • Panda Express | Ask Associate for gluten-free menu
  • Popcorn Wagon | Popcorn & cotton candy
  • Dippin’ Dots | Ice cream

Live Entertainment

We provide sensory-friendly family shows daily at:

  • Space Beagle | PEANUTS™ Showplace 1:00pm • 2:15pm • 3:45pm
  • PEANUTS™ Block Party  | Hometown Square 5:00pm
