7 Perfect Reasons to Spend the 4th of July at Great America

Our favorite summer holiday is quickly approaching, and Great America has the 7 perfect reasons to come enjoy the holiday at the park in 2018.

  1. We’re having a fantastic fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Our fireworks will be set to lively patriotic music and will decorate the skies above Flight Deck. The show will be visible throughout the park, but we recommend heading to Redwood Amphitheater, which will open at 9 p.m., to grab the best seats.
  2. We are honoring all current and past military members on July 4, 2018 by offering free park admission! Military members also enjoy a special discount for family and friends; bring up to 6 guests for just $23.99 each! Make sure to bring valid military ID to take advantage of this huge savings.
  3. You can enjoy some of the most quintessentially American treats at Great America, like fried chicken from Maggie Brown’s Smokehouse or a colossal hot dog from Great American Hot Dogs and Pizza.
  4. If it starts to warm up, you can hop in the lazy river or wave pool at Boomerang Bay waterpark. Boomerang Bay and Great America are the only waterpark and amusement park in one place in Northern California, so make sure to bring your swimsuit and towel when you visit Great America!
  5. You could catch eight different live shows all happening on the Fourth. From The RailBlazer Big Basin Bluegrass Band to Elevation Extreme, there’s something for everyone—cool and relaxed to high-energy and wild. Don’t miss a show of Cable Car Connection, where a troupe of talented entertainers take the cable car right through Hometown Square on their way to the big audition! And while you’re in Hometown Square, take a ride on Patriot, because, well, Independence Day.
  6. You can ride our new, state-of-the-art RailBlazer roller coaster all day long! It’s the first of its kind on the West Coast and features a 100-foot vertical drop straight into a rocky ravine.
  7. Last but not least, we’ll be holding a big social media giveaway on July 4 that will give guests a chance to win $500 to spend in the park! You need to visit the park on July 4 for all the details!
