Halloween Haunt is one of the busiest times of the season at California’s Great America. The team is always busy behind the scenes, but we also like to be interactive with guests—bringing new experiences to the park with the help of our radio partners. This past weekend, we worked with local radio stations on some on-site activations, which included stations having a booth, in-park giveaways and music.
Friday night, we kicked of the weekend with 997NOW! radio station. The street team arrived before the park opened and started setting up their booth. Throughout the night, the street team danced along with guests. They also held ticket giveaways to meet local hip-hop artist Kalin White and introduced their upcoming show, POPTOPIA, which is going to be epic!
On Saturday night, Live 105’s Useless Werido and Twinkie from “Kevin Klein” were in the park. Both got monster makeovers and had the chance to scare our park guests in the Toy Factory maze. It wasn’t as easy as they thought it would be, but they had a blast interacting with the guests.
The weekend ended on Sunday with on-air personality Gabby Diaz from WiLD 949, who had a private dinner at our Haunt Boofet before getting transformed into a scary 20s-style flapper monster. Gabby admitted to being nervous at first, but once she was placed in full costume and went into the Madame Marie’s Massacre Manor maze, her inner monster came out to scare guests as they went through the maze.
It was a fun-filled weekend for the promotions team—but the fun’s not over yet! This weekend, we will have Milpitas High School on Friday taking over our 997NOW! booth with a live broadcast with Strawberry. We will also have Jenna from Star 101.3 on Saturday and a live broadcast from The Bay’s R&B 102.9. We hope see you there!
