Where To Eat – New Dining Options

California's Great America |
February 20, 2017

Incredible food and dining options abound during visits to California’s Great America, and the 2017 season is on track to take guests’ dining experiences to a whole new level. And it’s not just theme park food we’re talking about! These offerings are the real deal when it comes to great food. Wondering where to eat first? We’ve got you covered.

Maggie’s Famous Fried Chicken Gets a Facelift

Headlining the new park food offerings for 2017 is an exciting addition to Great America’s most familiar food location. Maggie Brown’s Famous Fried Chicken will become Maggie’s Smokehouse and Fried Chicken. But don’t worry – the restaurant’s namesake fried chicken will still be a staple. Now, though, there will be a host of new favorites joining the menu. Smoked tri-tip and pulled pork will also be served daily – the smells of which are sure to guide guests into the restaurant when they’re cooking in the smoker.

Besides new BBQ favorites, Maggie’s will be adding to its chicken options with rotisserie chicken and a unique Kick’n Chicken Sandwich that features Maggie’s long-adored fried chicken. Smokehouse beans will also be offered up in 2017 as a side option to pair with these lip-smacking dining options.

Plus, if the barbeque enthusiast needs more reasons to be excited, Great America’s chef and food experts have additional surprises in store. On select dates, both beef and pork ribs will surprise and delight foodies.

Food Fair’s Growing Menu

While Maggie’s Smokehouse and Fried Chicken will likely grab the headlines, there is much more planned for 2017 from Great America’s food team. Seafood lovers will rejoice for two on-the-go favorites joining the lineup in 2017. A classic lobster roll sandwich, plus a crab sandwich, will be ready at Food Festival every day. The lobster roll, which is a traditional New England favorite, packs sweet lobster meat on a convenient roll, while the crab sandwich is piled high with tasty seafood.

Also new on the menu at Food Fair in 2017 are burritos and tacos, chowder bread bowls and Boba Tea (or bubble tea).

Convenient Drink Refill Locations

After an exhilarating ride on Patriot, guests will be able to refuel at Firehouse Refreshments – a new area near the ride’s entrance where guests can purchase soft drinks and refill their all-season souvenir bottles. A second new beverage refill station will also be added in Boomerang Bay Waterpark.

Freshly Made Gourmet Pizzas

Great America Pizza Company rounds out the new food offerings in 2017. From classic pepperoni and cheese to gourmet Hawaiian and barbeque chicken, guests will surely taste the difference that fresh dough makes on all our pizzas.
