Location: Snow Flake Lake Plaza
Guests will gaze at one of the most picturesque ice skating venues anywhere, as the reflection pond in front of Carousel Columbia is transformed into a holiday ice skating rink.
Twenty-five-foot-tall, brightly lit Christmas trees line each side of the family-friendly skating venue. Up front, three picturesque polar bears sit between twin sets of lighted palm trees, welcoming guests approaching the rink. Skating under the stars becomes even more beautiful as the ice is decorated with giant snow flakes projected down from above. Ice skating is the perfect family holiday activity, and the scenery at Snow Flake Lake can’t be beat.
Non-skating guests can take in the wondrous views of Snow Flake Lake while enjoying a spin on Carousel Columbia. Santa has provided the ice skates and skate guides for beginners. Sign up early in the evening because this popular attraction often sells out. At 6:30pm and 8:30pm the ice rink will be closed for 30 minutes and the Zamboni will resurface the ice.
Who may skate?
In order to skate on Snow Flake Lake, all guests must have properly fitting ice skates either brought from home or rented from California’s Great America (skate rental is included with your Snow Flake Lake skate ticket). No hand held children are permitted on the ice rink. Guests 10 and under must be accompanied on the ice rink by a supervising companion 14 years or age or older. Both the child and their accompanying responsible person will require a skate ticket.
Can I come on and off the ice throughout the evening?
You cannot leave the ice rink and re-enter without purchasing another ticket. Each time you enter the ice rink, you will need to present a new ticket to skate.
If I bring my own skates, do I still have to pay to skate?
What is the waiver?
All skating participants must complete the waiver. Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. We encourage the waiver to be filled out in advance of your arrival at the park.
Does ice skating sell out?
There are a limited number of people allowed on the ice at one time and there will be a limit to the number of tickets we sell each evening. We encourage you to purchase your skate time when you first arrive to avoid missing your opportunity to skate.
Do Season Passholders receive a discount?
How should I prepare for my ice skating session?
We recommend wearing warm clothes, and dressing for the weather. Please make sure to wear socks as they are required to ice skate.
