Seasonal Positions

Under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager, this position performs audits on controls over Revenue, Cash Receipts, Accounting, Computer Systems, Payroll, Purchasing, Expenditures, Inventory, etc. After completing each audit, this position reports to management in written format indicating the conclusions of the audits, including the necessary recommendations for improvements to controls and procedures. Audit interns will also be heavily involved with the testing required by our national CPA firm under the Sarbanes/Oxley law.

Requirements:
This job requires a highly motivated individual who is able to work effectively both with and without supervision. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, as interaction with management on a regular basis is required. Auditors must be willing to work approximately 40 hours per week (during the summer season) with varying daily schedules. Candidates should be Accounting or Finance majors in their junior year or above, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must have completed an accounting course prior to the internship. Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check.

Lifeguard
Minimum Age Requirement: 16
  • Monitor safety and assist guests in Boomerang Bay Waterpark.
  • Ability to complete training and meet the standards of the Ellis & Associates International Training Program, including First Aid & CPR certifications, Swim Rescue, and Spinal Injury Management.
  • California's Great America absorbs the costs involved with training and certifying lifeguards.
  • Maintain Cedar Fair's high standard of cleanliness throughout the property including but not limited to park common areas, walkways, park restrooms, associate locker rooms and restrooms.
Cash Control
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Responsible for accurate and efficient cash handling. Prepare, distribute and reconcile change funds, transport money to various park locations and perform a variety of accounting related tasks.

IT Technician
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Install, configure and upgrade desktop, laptop, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot both common and unusual hardware and software problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on PC equipment and install required software patches.
  • Ensure the connectivity of PCs, laptops and other computing devices to both the LAN and WAN.
  • Perform network and administration/maintenance with active directory and exchange.
  • Monitor network and servers.
Food Service Associate
Minimum Age Requirement: 16
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to park guests, operate cash registers, help maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned location while providing quality service to park guests.
  • Ability to obtain a California Food Handler Certificate
Food Service Warehouse Associate
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Responsible for receiving, storing, and delivery of food inventory for the Food Services division.
  • Maintain the warehouse facility in accordance with the Cedar Fair cornerstones: Safety, Service, Courtesy, Cleanliness and Integrity.
  • Ability to obtain a California Food Handler Certificate

Food Service Clerk

Human Resources Associate

  • Provide a high level of guest service to applicants and employees
  • Assist with employment related paperwork processing, provide answers to questions, process photo ID's. distribute pay checks and complimentary tickets,
  • Perform general office tasks such as data entry, filing and copying. Assists in Wardrobe and other departments as needed.

  • Promote games and assist guests in the operation of various games

Admissions Associate

  • Provide excellent guest service while welcoming guests to California's Great America
  • Sell, process, and verify admission tickets and season passes for guest entering the park and at the toll plaza.
  • Enforce park policies.

Park Services Associate
Minimum Age Requirement: 16
  • Provide excellent guest service while focusing on Park aesthetics.
  • Maintain Cedar Fair's high standard of cleanliness throughout the property including but not limited to park common areas, walkways, parking lots, park restrooms, administrative offices, associate locker rooms and restrooms.
Ride Operator
Minimum Age Requirement: 16
  • Ensure the proper operation of assigned location; inform guests of and enforce ride rules, handle guest situations and maintain the cleanliness of ride and ride area.
  • Maintain Cedar Fair's high standard of cleanliness throughout the property including but not limited to park common areas, walkways, parking lots, park restrooms, associate locker rooms and restrooms.
The California's Great America Safety and Security Department is currently seeking applicants who share an interest in the Public Safety and Emergency Services career fields. We are looking for Security Patrol Officers, Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians, and Security Dispatchers. California's Great America will provide CPR/AED and First Aid training to our non-EMT staff as well as CPR/AED recertification for our EMTs, and Defensive Tactics training for all patrol officers. California's Great America offers great experience for individuals who are interested in the Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Services career fields.

Safety
Medical Responder (EMT)
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Staff the First Aid station, assisting guests and employees with basic first aid and/or basic life support care.
  • Minimum certifications of NREMT-B or MNEMSRB EMT-B required

  • 6 months - 1 Year Related Experience EMT basic required
Security
Security Access Control Officer
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Secure park property by staffing the security gates and checkpoints throughout the park.
Security Officer
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and employees and protect the assets of the company. Provide quality service for the park's guests and employees.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training and pass examinations as needed. Training will include First AID and CPR. If unable to attend company arranged training, a First Aid and CPR certification must be obtained at employees expense prior to start date.

Dispatch
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Responsible for prioritizing and organizing incoming and outgoing calls in the Security department.
  • Dispatches calls to appropriate personnel and maintains and documents call records.
  • Assists guests and employees with lost articles.

Loss Prevention Associate
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
  • Minimize losses to the company caused by employee error or misappropriation through resolution of finance problems, auditing, and surveillance, investigations and documentation.
