JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, manages the operation of the admissions department, ensuring efficient and effective department operations. Supervises subordinate supervisory staff as assigned. Performs related administrative and professional work as required.

Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years professional related experience in amusement parks, or hospitality industries.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • High degree of professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team setting with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong development & planning skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; familiarity admissions and ticketing software desired.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level sufficient to conduct employee meetings; provide detailed direction to staff, guests, and vendors; and write policies, procedures, reports and other business related documents and correspondence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and direction of staff in the admissions.
  • Administrative duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; acting on employee problems.
  • Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advice and assistance as needed.
  • Provides adequate training and professional development of subordinate staff members.
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures.
  • Develops and manages department budgets; monitors expenditures.
  • Coordinates and executes checks and balances to ensure ticket sales, ticket taking, season pass processing and cash control activities are accurate and in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and/or processes various records and reports including performance appraisals, purchase orders, over/short reports, till summaries, memos correspondence, etc
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned.
  • Lubricates rides and equipment.
  • Designs and fabricates parts; rebuilds components.
  • Cleans mechanical parts as needed.
  • Responds to work orders and trouble calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records; prepares maintenance reports as required.
  • Reviews technical documents, blueprints, schematics, catalogs, etc., as needed to support ride maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work.

  • Performs all work in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulations, plans and specifications, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from employees and guests regarding ride safety and maintenance.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Operates rides as necessary.
  • May perform minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical work as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Requires a vocational diploma in mechanical / industrial maintenance supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires forklift and man lift certifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid California Driver's License
This job is responsible for managing the security and well-being of our park guests and its employees. This job must have general knowledge of the California Penal Code. This position is also responsible for the protection of the company's assets. This is achieved through both physical and video surveillance, documentation, and data analysis. This position is also responsible for the safety of our park guests and its employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Security
  • Manage the daily operation of the Security Department.
  • Manage the performance of the supervision staff.
  • Conduct Sexual Harassment, Work Place Violence, Under the Influence, and other interviews/investigations that violate California's Great America's Rules of Conduct as required.
  • Perform operational duties of staff as business needs dictate.
  • Review, update and revise policies and procedures of department.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws
  • Approve the arrest of individuals committing crimes on company property staying within approved guidelines
  • Maintain appropriate working relationships with all local law enforcement agencies.
  • Attend external meeting as needed.
  • Address employee issues relating to Security matters.
  • Complete department schedules and yearly budgets to ensure proper coverage is maintained throughout the year.
  • Develop and maintain department incentive program.
  • Manage employee performance utilizing all appropriate means including training, coaching, counseling and corrective actions as outlined in California's Great America's policies and procedures.
  • Develop through performance management, the Area Manager, the Supervisors and Shift Leads in the Security department.
  • Provide excellent guest service to our park guests.
  • Respond to, resolve and report on the outcome of guest concerns by representing the Company in a professional manner.

Loss Prevention
  • Monitor the daily operation of the Loss Prevention Department.
  • Review investigations and provide direction for investigations.
  • Complete background checks for West Coast Operations.
  • Complete department schedules and yearly budgets to ensure proper coverage is maintained throughout the year.
  • Review, update, and revise policies and procedures of department.
  • Assist with shoplift and trespass detentions.
  • Address employee and guest issues relating to Loss Prevention.
  • Act as primary contact for Civil Demand and Collection attorneys.
  • Complete Security/Loss Prevention interviews with employees and guests as required.
  • Write Security/Loss Prevention reports as required.
  • Ensure all reports are completed in a timely fashion and contain all pertinent information.
  • Review status of restitution monies being collected.
  • Ensure appropriate steps are being followed when payments are not being made according to restitution agreement.
  • Provide Loss Prevention insight to park management and supervision through training classes.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fulfill shifts as the “Operations Manager” as needed.
  • Fulfill shifts as the “Executive on Duty” as needed.
  • Fulfill shifts as the “Safety Duty Manager”.
  • Attend Wicklander-Zulawski and Associates Interview and Interrogation Techniques Course.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required to achieve position accountabilities and division goals.
  • Present Work Place Violence and Loss Prevention classes to all levels of park Management and Supervision as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Four year college degree or equivalent job experience required

Job Related Experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in related fields (Law Enforcement, Private Security, Retail Loss Prevention)
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising employees
  • Good working knowledge of the Security and park operations required
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel preferred

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to pass a mandatory drug test and background check
  • Ability to pass a DMV check and obtain a California's Great America Public Highway License
  • Ability to meet California's Great America costuming and grooming standards
  • Ability to meet scheduling availability requirements, including availability during nights, weekends, and Holidays

AREA MANAGER, FOOD AND BEVERAGE

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading all paid consumer marketing efforts including mass advertising, online promotions, retail and local partnerships, TV/radio promotions, season pass, CRM and email marketing to achieve annual park attendance and revenue goals. Develops annual integrated marketing communications plans for California’s Great America. Serves as brand manager for all marketing communications working with the Director of Marketing to manage the agency of record, as well as internal/external design resources across all paid consumer channels. Maintains all consumer pricing, promotional offers, attendance and expense budgets for the division, collateral and in park marketing efforts. Manages 1 fulltime employees plus seasonal staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Liberal Arts or related course of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 - 7 years professional related experience in marketing large venues, amusement parks, or hospitality industries.
  • Previous supervisory experience desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees all revenue and attendance for consumer-purchased ticket and pass products for California’s Great America including general park admission, online advance sales, mass retailer ticket/gift cards, discount coupon programs, season pass and resort tickets and packages.
  • Develops annual integrated communications plans for California’s Great America to achieve annual revenue and attendance goals.
  • Develops the parks’ business objectives, goals and marketing needs for key programs and campaigns that cross multiple Consumer paid, earned and owned marketing channels as part of the Corporate Marketing communications process.
  • Analyzes Consumer Marketing sales performance on a weekly basis, using data to identify business trends to accurately forecast results and recommend reactive and proactive in-season marketing strategies.
  • Park liaison for any Consumer insights/brand tracking, demographic or guest satisfaction research.
  • Day-to-day advertising agency management for California’s Great America creative, media planning, execution and advertising effectiveness/metrics.
  • Directs internal and external design resources for local advertising and in house production needs; provides creative direction and approvals; assists with copywriting when needed. Supervises all print collateral and in park/resort signage creative development and production.
  • Serves as brand manager for the Marketing division for all paid, earned, owned and sales channels to assure brand standards and messaging are being used consistently and effectively.
  • Park representative and liaison for all local, regional and state tourism marketing and advertising opportunities as well as local market partnerships with other entertainment attractions, teams and venues.
  • Oversees all ancillary marketing efforts for California’s Great America season pass and promotions areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining and communicating annual pricing, promotional offers and operational calendars for Marketing Division.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing Consumer Marketing expense budget as well as Marketing divisional rollup.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Marketing.
