HVAC/REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Installs, monitors, tests, maintains, repairs and retrofits HVAC & R equipment and systems throughout the Park.
  • Troubleshoots and services problems and equipment failures.
  • Orders parts and materials required for maintenance and repair work; maintains inventory records.
  • Receives and responds to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Updates HVAC drawings and maintains records with accuracy.
  • Properly disposes of used or dirty freon.
  • Performs all work in compliance with park policies and procedures, codes, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintains assigned vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Maintains clean, safe work and storage areas.
  • Attends workshops, training, meetings, etc., to maintain skills and stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources.
  • Receives and reviews various records and reports including daily work reports, architectural drawings, electrical diagrams, diagnostic reports, work orders, etc.
  • Prepares and/or processes daily reports, purchase orders, electrical diagrams, etc.
  • Refers to policy and procedure manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals and diagrams, project blueprints, codes and standards, charts, etc.
  • Operates a vehicle, electrical equipment and controls, two-way radio, etc.
  • Uses meters, gauges, shop tools, measuring devices, electrician's tools and instruments, diagnostic equipment, parts, lubricants, refrigerants and other chemicals, etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park supervisors and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, etc.

Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a vocational diploma in electrical and/or HVAC maintenance and repair work supplemented by three to five years of experience in HVAC / electrical maintenance and repair work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess EPA certification.
