As the seasons turn from summer to fall across the Bay Area, families are definitely looking for fun things to do at home that bring a bit of Halloween fun. You’re in luck because California’s Great America has put together some seasonal amusement park fun to help keep your family entertained at home. Here’s a list of California’s Great America-inspired things to do with kids at home this fall.

If you try any of these fun Halloween activities for kids, be sure to tag us @cagreatamerica on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so we can see how it turned out! We’ll be sharing your kids’ creations over the next few weeks.

Color Coasters, Scarecrows and More

Grab your crayons and colored pencils! Here are eight fall-themed coloring pages that will remind your family of awesome visits to California’s Great America. Click below to check out the coloring sheets featuring candy skulls, sunflowers, scarecrows, roller coasters and more.

Take a Virtual Thrill Ride

You might not be able to ride any roller coasters or thrill rides at Great America this fall, but why let that stop you from getting the butterflies in your stomach and enjoying a ride right from the comfort of your own home? Our Great America YouTube page has virtual ride videos that show you a front-seat view from our most popular attractions. All you need is internet access or the YouTube app on your phone or TV, and you can send your kids on a virtual ride. (Bonus points for realistic screams!)

Use a Great America Pumpkin Stencil to Carve an Epic Jack-o’-lantern

There’s no activity that’s more quintessentially fall than carving your very own pumpkin! Take a peek at these Great America inspired pumpkin carving stencils, and get ready for some spooky fun.

Want to use one of these awesome designs to carve the perfect pumpkin? It’s easy with these five steps:

  1. Print the design you like best.
  2. Tape the stencil to your pumpkin.
  3. Use a toothpick or pencil to poke the outline of the black sections to transfer the pattern to your pumpkin.
  4. Remove the stencil.
  5. Carve your scary-awesome pumpkin using your poked pattern!

Remember to share your results with us by tagging @cagreatamerica and using #CAGreatAmerica on social media. We can’t wait to see your pumpkin creations. We'll share some of our favorites on Halloween night!

Challenge Yourself to a Digital Jigsaw Puzzle

The Great America team has put together four great fall-themed digital puzzles that you can complete at home from your computer, tablet or phone! Race your family or friends to see who can complete them the fastest, or settle in for a fun solo activity.
