Every year, California’s Great America fills over 3,000 seasonal and part-time positions! This year, we have a variety of job opportunities available in all departments, including positions in our food and beverage, human resources, admissions, entertainment, security, maintenance, lifeguarding, rides, games and more.
A job at the park doesn’t have to be “just a summer job.” We also offer full-time positions that work all year long and opportunities to change positions or departments throughout the changing seasons. Want to be hired as a lifeguard but then be a monster during Haunt and a dancer for WinterFest? We encourage it!
When is the best time to apply?
Since the park is constantly changing throughout the seasons, it can be hard to know when the best time to apply for the position you are looking for really is!
One of the best parts about our application process is that you can secure your job now and begin working later! Let’s say, you can’t begin working until June because of school or a vacation, but you know you want a position at Great America. You can start the application and interview process now and not start working until after class lets out.
February, March, April
These three months are the best time to apply to work at the park! During these three months, we are looking to fill positions across all departments!
May and June is the busiest time for our Human Resources office. In this peak time, interviews are conducted every Sunday and Tuesday--and the interview schedules get filled quickly. If you’re looking for a position before the summer, start your application process in March or April because there is more flexibility with scheduling an interview.
This is the time where we switch gears and begin hiring for Halloween Haunt. Monsters, makeup artists, security, technicians and other behind-the-scenes crews should start the application process during July or August!
This is the best and only time to start applying for a position for WinterFest! Our hiring for the whole season ends in October until we pick up again in February of the next year.
Earlier Is Better
Most departments are consistently hiring from February through October, while some of the smaller departments are only hiring for a short amount of time. This is why it’s best to start the application process as soon as possible!
