Seasonal Positions

The team of Market Researchers collect, input and evaluate survey data obtained from park guests entering and exiting the park. Researchers must be outgoing, organized, accurate and enjoy interacting with our guests. Researchers approach guests to complete data survey, input data into computer, test and interpret data, analyze and generate final reports. Assists with special events and promotional activities and general office duties as needed. Must be available on weekends and holidays, and must be at least 16 years of age and older.

Performs clerical and administrative tasks in the Facilities, Maintenance and Construction Department as necessary to ensure accurate employee records such as attendance, disciplinary actions and terminations. Also assists the Managers in all administrative tasks required to maintain an organized and consistent department. Must have full availibility.

Maintain the safe and proper operation of all rides through maintenance, daily inspections and rehabilitation.  Must have HS diploma or GED and vocational training in related field. Must be at least 18 years of age. Knowledge and use of all major and basic hand tools, experience with light machinery, hydraulic systems, plumbing and gaseous systems and ability to operate forklifts and trucks required. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Pre-employment drug screen and valid CA license required

The Electrician assists the Journeymen Electrician on repairing electrical equipment related to ride operations. Must be able to read, write and follow instructions from ride electrical department. Follow-up with routine electrical repairs assigned by Journeymen Electrician.

Job requirements
Previous electrical experience helpful but not required. Preference will be given to those who are currently enrolled in trade school/engineering school. Must have valid California Driver's License and be available for weekends, holidays and overtime.

Controls and maintains an adequate supply of tools, consumable materials and inventoried spare parts necessary for the smooth and consistent operations of the Facilities, Maintenance, & Construction Division.

Must be at least 18 years of age, must have a valid CA Driver's license, and must be able to work weekends and evenings. Must have some mechanical knowledge of tools and parts.

Maintain park aesthetics by preparing surfaces as required and applying specified finish coatings to exteriors and interiors of buildings, offices, ride structures and related components.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.  Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid CA Driver's license

Performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, installation, and maintenance of park structures and buildings.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by three to five years of carpentry and/or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and that involves the lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of moderately heavy objects(up to 50 pounds) and occasionally heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Required to provide own hand tools. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays to meet the business needs required. Ability to work out of doors in all weather conditions required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. infrequently. Ability to climb and work at heights up to 80 ft. Ability to represent California's Great America and interact with Associates and guests in a professional manner required.

 

As a Pool Technician , you will be responsible for running tests and monitoring the chemical levels of pool water.  A Pool Technician also, documents and maintains accurate records for basic pool chemical readings to ensure chemical levels are maintained for our Boomerang Bay Water Park

Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must be fully available, including weekends.  Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet.  General mechanical and plumbing knowledge helpful.  Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a background check and urine drug screening (UDS) test.

Assists fellow plumbing technicians in operation and maintenance of water park pump rooms and chemical control systems for the water attractions. Assists in routine maintenance and repairs of all other park plumbing equipment and infrastructure as needed.

Installs, maintains and repairs landscaping including shrubs, trees, lawns, flowers and other park flora by means of planting, pruning, spraying, trimming, mowing and edging. Also prunes trees to keep them healthy and aesthetically pleasing. Valid CA drivers license is required along with full availability including weekend and holidays.

General labor set-up and cleaning for special events and other projects throughout the park.  Keeps park clean by washing down the asphalt, maintaining all trash receptacles within park, and organizing and maintaining the backstage areas.  Ability to operate tractor, truck required.  Must be 18+ with flexible availability including weekends and holidays and late night shifts. Physical labor involved. Valid CA drivers license is required.

Responsible for preparing, issuing and receiving banks funds. Issuing change, picking up revenue from various locations, wrapping coin, operating coin and currency machines and depositing revenue. Strong math, and communication (verbal/written) skills required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be fully available Monday through Sunday for late shifts, which are typically 4pm-midnight.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs

Assist the finance department in processing invoices for timely payment, filing documents, invoices, processing associate payroll and various administrative tasks within the department

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college preferred. Knowledge of accounting principles and labor laws is preferred. Full weekday availability is required.

Responsible for accurate billing and timely collection of accounts. Liaison between Customer, Group Sales, and Finance. Ensures credit/order approval & contracts are in order, data entry of event charges, generates invoices & statements, and makes collection calls. Other duties may include payment posting, coupon issuance, JE preparation and g/l account reconciliation. Must be flexible, organized, have strong couple issuance, JE preparation and g/l account reconciliation. Must be flexible, organized, have strong verbal & written, communication skills, math skill, and proficient in MS Word & Excel.

Main responsibilities include assisting the Accounts Payable department in processing invoices for timely payment, filing documents and invoices, reconciling payment statements.  Opening and Distribution of mail, Entering (vouchering) Invoices in JDE, Call vendors for inquiries, Research unpaid invoices,   Knowledge of accounting principles is required, as well as previous computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft software.

These positions offer the chance to acquire an exceptional amount of audit, accounting, and business experience, while working in a fun and professional environment. Great America is open daily from June to late August and is open weekends only in April, May, September and October. Internships normally run for 12 weeks from mid May to mid August, but may be adjusted to fit academic schedules.
Audit staff interns are involved in planning, performing, and reporting on financial and operational audits at the park, under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager. You’ll benefit from exposure to all levels of company management and to the daily operations of the company.Assignments may include audits on the controls over Revenue, Cash Receipts, Accounting and Computer Systems, Payroll, Purchasing & Expenditures, Inventory, etc., plus other projects.A fter completing each audit, you’ll write a report to management on your conclusion, including necessary recommendations for improvements to controls and procedures.
 

No audit experience is necessary, as training and guidance will be provided during the internship Candidates must be highly motivated and able to work professionally with and without supervision. Excellent communication skills are a plus, as you’ll interact with management on a regular basis. Auditors must be willing to work approximately 48 hours per week, with varying daily schedules. Candidates should be Accounting or Finance majors in their sophomore year or above, have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, and have completed an accounting course prior to the internship This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience!

Excellent communication and organizational skills required, as well as knowledge of MS Word and Excel.  This position is up to 40 hours per week, based on picnic bookings.  Weekends required with flexible weekday availability.  Must be 16 years of age or older.  Any event experience is a plus.

The Ticket Fulfillment Representative prints hard stock tickets, stocks and maintains promotional material, verifies ticket orders, performs quality control checks for accuracy, and performs other call center duties as assigned. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the safety and rescue of guests in Boomerang Bay. Lifeguards will receive extensive training in CPR and rescue, and must pass a written and practical test
